Oxford Medical School Open Days

Study Medicine at the University of Oxford

No booking is required for pre-clinical medicine open days. However, there is no parking on site so you are advised to use the Oxford park and ride service. The event lasts for half a day so you can choose to either come in the morning or the afternoon session which will start at 12 noon.

The open day will be at the Medical Sciences Teaching Centre. Medicine has been taught at Oxford for centuries so these guys know what they are doing. Talks on studying a traditional medicine course at Oxford, applying to Oxford and student life will be presented to students and their parents if there are enough spaces. Visitors can also experience a mock interview which will show prospective applicants how to answer questions and respond to certain situations in the best way possible. Getting a place at Oxford to study medicine is extremely competitive so you will be at an advantage if you attend these talks and activities. Staff will be around to discuss the structure of the course and how the overall admissions process works.

Join onto a tour of the teaching and demonstration rooms at the Medical Sciences Teaching Centre where you will have the chance to see some student research projects and displays. You can also ask current students about their university experience at Oxford while studying medicine.

All colleges will be open for you to view. They will also hold talks on general topics such as admissions. Take a look at all of Oxford’s facilities including its extensive range of libraries, the Oxford Union and the sports and language centres. Go and tour the surrounding area of Oxford as well to see if you could imagine living there for a few years.
