As a university dedicated to providing the best experience possible, we continue to invest in our facilities, ranging from industry level equipment and studio spaces and first-class library and learning zones, to modern accommodation and a wide range of recreational amenities.

Within the Faculty of Technology, we comprise a variety of industry-standard equipment to get you fully prepared for the world of work. The facilities across our Faculty include:

  • Our multi-million pound Creative Technology Studios, featuring audio recording studios, broadcast-standard radio production studios with professional playout and management systems, fused-media and motion-capture studios, HD cameras and 3D research facilities
  • Stand-alone film studios|, equipped with multi-cameras, blue screen and green screen studios, a full lighting setup, and a viewing gallery
  • Video production laboratories|, designed for High-Definition (HD) video extraction, HD editing, effect processing, CGI, DVD creation and mastering
  • Based in the dedicated Bede Island building are our Animation and Game Art Design studios, with facilities including digital animation, sound and effects studios, and a dedicated suite of Cintiq graphics tablets
  • Our Games Development studios host some of the most up-to-date technology for playing and developing games, equipped with computers such as the Dell Alienware and Acer Predator machines
  • Our Cyber Security Laboratories are among the best equipped facilities of their kind in the UK, containing high-spec, specially customised PCs configured with multiple operating systems, virtualisation and removable hard drives, while the university also has its own Advanced Mobile Robotics and Intelligent Agents Laboratory
  • Our Engineering facilities include our Control and Dynamics laboratory, our engine test cell laboratory and our brand new Rohde and Schwarz/DMU Embedded Systems laboratory - complete with 17 state-of-the-art electronic work stations and oscilloscopes - while infrared cameras and thermal imaging equipment is on hand for you to use throughout your years of study
