Economics University League Tables

When it comes to choosing which university to go to finding the one that’s going to give you the best education can be hard work. Although asking past students and reading reviews will give you some idea everyone has a different experience at university and what works for one person might not work for you.

Another way of narrowing down the choices is to look at the university league tables. League tables rank universities using scores for everything from student satisfaction to which university city has the best night life. Most league tables also give the universities an overall score which helps to decide its final place in the rankings.

If you’re studying a popular course such as Economics you’ll find that nearly every university offers it as a course or as part of a joint degree, for example Business and Economics.

To make sure you apply to a university that’s going to give you a top class education here are the top 10 universities offering an Economics degree:

  1. Warwick – scoring 100% overall
  2. London School of Economics – scoring 3.83 out of 5 for student satisfaction
  3. Oxford – scoring 83 out of 100 for graduate employability
  4. Cambridge – scoring 99.4% overall
  5. University College London – scoring 3.5 out or 4 for the quality of research undertaken by the university
  6. Bristol – scoring 97.1% overall
  7. Exeter – scoring 4.07 out of 5 for student satisfaction
  8. St Andrews – scoring 88 out of 100 for graduate employability
  9. Durham – scoring 3.99 out of 5 for student satisfaction
  10. Nottingham – scoring 3.15 out of 4 for the quality of research undertaken by the university

If the league tables don’t help you to narrow your choices down then the best thing you can do is to attend a few open days and really get a feel for what life at university might be like.

Some students report knowing that a university was the right one the moment they stepped on campus. Others reported the opposite feeling even though the university had been their top choice before the open day.
