Foundation Entry courses are a preparatory year of a degree for those who do not have the academic requirements for direct entry and/or those who have been out of education for a while and need to refresh their study skills, before embarking on the first year of the course.
These are university level programmes, combining both academic and vocational skills, designed to improve your career prospects and earning potential in industry. Over two thirds of UCLan Burnley students progress and top-up with further study to achieve a full honours degree after completing a Foundation Degree here at the campus, usually with just one further year of study. Alternatively these qualifications enable students to successfully enter employment within their chosen field.
These are full degree programmes which prepare you for employment, entry to graduate schemes or postgraduate study. You can access our degree courses on a full time or part time basis. Most full-time courses require 15 hours study time in class each week.
Postgraduate programmes, such as Postgraduate Certificates and Masters Degrees, are designed for those who already hold a BA/BSc honours degree. These programmes are suitable for those who wish to pursue a specific career, such as teaching, or wish to continue their studies.
The courses we offer are taught within schools on campus. You will be able to find your chosen degree course within one of the following schools:
