Accounting

Tresham _courses 02The School of Business, Computing and Professional is based across all three campuses in Kettering, Corby and Wellingborough. We have links with local organisations who commission our students with ‘live’ project work providing work-based learning and enriching their education.

Success rates across our Higher Education, AAT & ACCA programmes are high and progression of students onto final year top-up degrees is strong.


Business and Management

A higher level qualification in Business or Management can be invaluable for career progression across all industries and sectors.  Our popular courses are operated on all three main campuses in Kettering, Corby and Wellingborough.  Our established and long standing links with local organisations enables us to offer ‘live’ project work to ensure that course content is relevant and realistic.


Care and Early Years

Our Care and Early Years courses are consistently recognised for the quality of their provision and student success. The school offers a selection of full time and part time courses ranging from Level 1 to Level 6 and programmes are currently being offered at Corby, Kettering and Wellingborough.

Computing and IT

In the increasingly computerised environment in which we operate a higher level qualification in computing can provide you with the basis to enter employment into a wide range of roles within many different companies and sectors.

With both full time and part time study plans available we can help you to achieve the right balance with the other demands on your time.  The courses contain a strong emphasis on work related skills and team working as well as the technical skills that you will need, giving you the confidence you need to succeed in this exciting career stream.


Counselling

A career in counselling can provide you with the opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of other people.  At Tresham we offer courses through from introductory courses in counselling up to fully qualified Level 4 Diplomas, all on a part time basis.

Our Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling is intended for students who have already acquired a Level 3 qualification and are looking to take their training to the next level.  The challenging course equips students to be able to work with clients in an agency setting including a compulsory period of work based training.


Creative Arts and Media

Our Creative Arts and Media courses are predominantly based at our Kettering campus. Our extensive and impressive facilities include three Apple Mac suites, a 165-seat theatre, a dance studio, a photography studio and darkroom, dedicated art studios, textile and fashion design studios, a video editing suite, a radio production studio and a printmaking studio.

We have excellent links with local and national organisations, such as the NHS Trust and Kettering Borough Council, who commission our students to undertake ‘live’ project work.

In line with the creative nature of this school, students take part in a number of shows, performances and exhibitions every year; notably the annual Fashion Show in April and the end of year Creative Arts Show in June in which all students exhibit their work or perform. Prospective applicants are encouraged to attend these shows, as they are an excellent opportunity to view the outstanding work produced and to speak with our current students.


Engineering

Tresham ensures that it provides engineering training that meets the current needs of the industry. We have strong and well-established links with many local companies who are keen to recruit our students when they complete their course.

Delivered at our modern Corby campus, our resources include advanced engineering workshops, for both electronic and mechanical engineering, and fully equipped suites to ensure that students have the best possible working environment. This enables students to accomplish the full range of skills required for a career in engineering.


Music and Performing Arts

Our Creative Arts and Media courses are predominantly based at our Kettering campus. These exciting new courses are designed to provide a specialist work-related programme of study that covers the key knowledge, understanding and practical skills required in the science sector. They are nationally recognised qualifications that offer the opportunity to progress your career by accessing industry specific training whilst also providing a platform to study at degree level.

Science for Industry courses are based at our Kettering campus, which is well resourced to meet the needs of every student. The campus has excellent facilities and realistic working environments for practical training.


Sport

Tresham University Centre provides a range of Higher National Certificates (HNC) and Higher National Diplomas (HND) in sports related subjects. These courses contain a strong emphasis on practical skills development, alongside the development of theoretical understanding of sport , leisure and fitness. The qualifications are nationally recognised allowing direct progression into employment or onto further study.

Our extensive sports facilities include fitness suites, sport lab, Astroturf pitches, sports fields, outdoor games area and a four court sports hall.

Our students are sought by employers for their ability to make a positive impact by applying the knowledge and skills they have gained through their courses, helping to develop sporting opportunities for  all.


Teaching and Assessing

A qualification in Education or training can open up a whole new rewarding career path for your future.

At Tresham we offer a number of teaching qualifications in partnership with the University of Bedfordshire.  The Post Compulsory Education Certificate in Education course is a recognised teaching qualification offered in partnership with the University of Bedfordshire.  Offered at two levels, both courses are designed to develop your understanding of learning and teaching processes.

The Mentoring in Education Diploma is aimed at teachers in any sector covering the specific skills required when mentoring new staff as well as those needing support as teachers.
