What is a Liberal Arts Degree?

A liberal arts education is one which encourages students to explore a wide range of subjects before specialising. It reaches across disciplines, building connections between different academic areas such as literature, science, mathematics, writing, business, communications, philosophy and psychology. The advantages of a liberal arts degree are the flexibility and choice, followed by a specialist subject focus, for which you are fully prepared. With this flexibility, you are able to explore your interests earlier on in the degree programme, and then tailor your degree with your specialist subject to highlight not only your interests but your developed skills at the undergraduate level. The result is a degree that showcases your academic skills and talent to prospective employers and postgraduate committees.
