High Quality Teaching

Top 4 in the North West for Teaching Quality. (The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2022). We are also ranked first in Liverpool for assessment and feedback and are the top modern university in the North West for academic support (National Student Survey, 2023).

Research excellence

We are in the top 10 of all UK universities for the percentage of academic staff with doctorates. More than 60% of our research output is rated as world leading or internationally excellent (Research Excellence Framework 2021).

Investment

Over the last decade, more than £60 million has been invested in the university buildings and facilities. In 2019, the new Physiotherapy and Sport Rehabilitation Clinic located in Hope Park Sports opened its doors. The Clinic is a new addition to the Faculty of Science. A new ‘IQ Building’, which will be a collaborative space as well as holding a simulation lab, is also due to open in the next academic year. It has been designed with renewable energy, sustainable materials and low carbon targets at the forefront of minds.
