North Shore

Come along and take advantage of our free wireless internet and our student-friendly prices. Media Centre Cinema

It might sound too good to be true, but we have a brilliant 200-seater cinema in the David Putnam Media Centre. 

Whether you’re a film student showing your latest creation to your course mates or a Cineclub member watching movies with your friends, you’re sure to appreciate this facility on campus..

Libraries

The University has two state-of-the-art libraries for you to study and work on your latest assignments; one on each campus. During core teaching weeks the Murray Library is open 24/7 and the St Peter’s Library is open until midnight.

Campus Buses

The University operates a free bus for staff and students moving between the two campuses.

Staff and students of the University of Sunderland can travel for free if they show their university ID card.


The Gateway

Each campus has a Gateway – a one-stop-shop for student services and information, so students can tap into resources and help, from financial advice to accommodation, welfare and student support.

CitySpace

The newest addition to our sport facilities is CitySpace, a £12m sports and recreation facility which opened in 2009. It boasts a six-badminton court sports hall, 70 station fitness suite, sports massage and injuries centre, indoor climbing wall and cafe/restaurant.

The new £8.5m Sciences Complex offers one of the best student experiences for those interested in studying the sciences.
