Chester Campus

Our on-campus facilities include a Learning Resource Centre, modern lecture theatres, open-access computer facilities, state-of-the-art science/skills/language laboratories, a range of catering outlets, the £2 million Chester Students’ Union centre and CSU bar/club, bookshop, chapel and faith space, cashpoint and launderette.

Because university life is not just about getting a degree, social and leisure activities are an important and long-established part of Chester Campus life. On-campus sports facilities include a fully equipped sports hall, gym, swimming pool, squash and tennis courts, sprint track, floodlitChesterscience _facilities 033G multi-use pitch and floodlit astroturf pitch.

Most of our student accommodation is also on or near campus. 

Only a short walk from Chester city, the campus also boasts an abundance of green space, and beautifully kept gardens, which provide you with an exciting environment in which to live and study.


Faculty of Science and Engineering Facilities

For students, the opportunity to study using world-class facilities and alongside on-site science and technology employers is unique. Our learning environment has been shaped with employability at its core.

You will have access to:

  • world-class pilot-scale facilities donated to the University of Chester by Shell, which we use for problem-based learning
  • purpose-built laboratories designed by scientists and engineers for scientist and engineers
  • a technology-enriched learning environment with practical work experience
  • extensive computer science facilities and up-to-date hardware and software

Chesterscience _facilities 02For our commercial and industrial partners, the Science Park will offer incubator space’ for young and developing enterprises. Businesses in the environment, engineering, energy and automotive sectors will benefit from specialist on-site facilities and accommodation as well as support through specialist knowledge and expertise. Larger firms and multinationals will be offered a range of commercial options at the site both through partnerships with the University and other stakeholders.
