Why London Met?

There are lots of reasons and here are just a few...

We'll help you plan for your future

Based in the heart of the capital, London Met is a great choice for undergraduate study. We're committed to providing you with an excellent education and preparing you for a successful career. Our courses will give you a range of practical skills and are informed by current thinking and practice. We offer a number of services to help you plan for your future including fees and funding support, careers advice and help finding accommodation. You can also come along to one of our open days where you can speak to academics, take a tour of our campus and get help with your UCAS application.

A focus on employability

During your course you will be exposed to work experience, volunteering opportunities, free careers advice and numerous networking events. Many of our courses are designed by employers and professionals. We endeavour to do everything we can to help you progress and become the professional you want to be. Many of our students have gone on to great things, in fact the new Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, started his student life with us and now he's running London!

Excellent location

Enjoy the leafy suburbs of Islington, situated just a few minutes' walk from our bustling Holloway campus. Soak up the lively and creative atmosphere of north London and be part of one of the most exciting cities in the world – you'll be right in the heart of it all. Whether you're a foodie, clubber, culture vulture, bargain-hunter or sports fan, you'll find what you’re looking for right round the corner from London Met.

Investment in facilities

We're committed to providing you with the best facilities, and will continue to invest in your future. Our £30 million science centre, TV and recording studios, mock courtroom, Bloomberg terminals and Metropolitan Works, our digital manufacturing centre, are just a few of the facilities we have on offer.

Our commitment to our students

We are determined to make sure you have the greatest possible university experience, so we have developed the London Met five star Student Promise. See below for more details:

 Our five star Student Promise

Our commitment to making sure you have the greatest possible university experience is what inspired our five star Student Promise. We promise that you can:

Get to work

At London Met, you will have access to work-based learning opportunities during your studies which will count towards your degree. This will involve real work experience while studying to give you practical knowledge and skills on top of your academic qualification.

Earn it back

All relevant work opportunities on campus are offered to our students first, part of our aim to recycle as much of your fees back to you as possible. Take advantage of our in-house temping agency, volunteering service and student peer mentoring and ambassador posts whilst studying for your degree.

Shape your course

Our modules will be assessed in real-time by students, meaning you can make a difference to the teaching you receive. We’ll always listen to any suggestions you have about improving your course to ensure you have a rewarding learning experience with us. A new student led module feedback scheme will launch in spring 2016.

Take our investment

We will support you, with £1,000 cash bursaries available each year for students who qualify for a full Maintenance Loan. The cash bursaries will be provided every year of study during your course. Read more about our bursaries and scholarships in our Funding your studies section.

Boost your potential

Students at London Met benefit from additional support offered by second and third years on their course. And, as you progress, you in turn will have the opportunity to support others through our Peer Assisted Student Success (PASS) scheme.
