School of Allied Health Sciences

The School of Allied Health Sciences has a reputation for providing high quality professional education and training for a wide range of healthcare careers, including diagnostic and physiological laboratory-based sciences and therapeutic sciences, in the UK and worldwide.

The School of Applied Social Sciences is the largest and most diverse school within the faculty. Courses that we offer within social sciences combine the academic theory of university study with the practical, vocational and professional skills required to work in a number of social science areas, looking to prepare you for work in the sector.

Our courses are professionally focused to enhance our graduates employability and ensure they receive the highest standards of teaching; many are accredited, approved or regulated by professional bodies such as: The British Psychological Society (BPS), National Youth Agency (NYA) and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

With more than 50 years’ experience in delivering high quality professional education to our diverse studentship, the School of Nursing and Midwifery helps students to develop the skills, knowledge and attitudes needed to improve health and patient care.
