Where to Shop in London as a Student

London is one of the shopping capitals of the world and when you’re new to the city it’s tempting to rush out and flash your cash. Unfortunately, your student budget won’t go very far like that, but with our guide we can make sure you get what you want and don’t blow your budget.

First things first, buy an NUS Extra card to make sure you get discounts with top brands including New Look, ASOS, Jack Wills, and Amazon.

Secondly, know which areas of London to shop in…

Oxford Circus

Where Oxford Street meets Regent Street, you’ll find all the big brands and large department stores including John Lewis, House of Fraser, and Selfridges.

Carnaby Street and Soho

If you’re not a fan of the big brands and you’re looking for more specialised shops, then this is the shopping area for you.

You’ll also find Liberty, the world famous department store with a twist, known to some as the “hipster” department store.

Shoreditch and Brick Lane

This is the place to shop if you’re looking for smaller, independent shops that offer something more unique.

The BOXPARK development – shops and café housed in shipping containers – is very unusual and well worth a visit. Retailers come and go, so make sure you buy whilst you still can if you see something you like!
